Detail overview
Tandoori Roti – Full Description:
Tandoori Roti is a classic North Indian flatbread, traditionally baked in a clay oven called a tandoor, which gives it a distinct smoky flavor and slightly crisp texture. Made from whole wheat flour (atta), salt, and water, the dough is kneaded until smooth, then rolled into flat rounds.
Once prepared, the roti is slapped onto the hot inner walls of the tandoor, where it cooks quickly at high temperatures, puffing up slightly and developing beautiful golden-brown blisters and charred spots.
Tandoori Roti is mildly chewy on the inside with a toasty outer layer and is usually served hot with curries, dal, or grilled meats. It is a healthy, oil-free bread option and a staple in Indian cuisine, perfect for scooping up rich gravies or wrapping up kebabs.
Optional: Can be brushed lightly with butter or ghee upon request for extra flavor.
