Detail overview
Papad Fry or Dry Roast
Papad, also known as papadam or poppadum, is a thin, crispy Indian flatbread made from lentil, chickpea, or rice flour. It can be enjoyed in two popular ways:
-
Papad Fry: The papad is deep-fried in hot oil until it becomes golden brown and super crispy. This method gives it a rich, crunchy texture and a slightly oily flavor, making it a delicious and indulgent snack or accompaniment.
-
Papad Dry Roast: The papad is roasted directly over an open flame or on a hot pan without oil until it puffs up and becomes crisp. This method is healthier, preserving the natural flavors of the papad and giving it a light, smoky taste.
Both fried and dry-roasted papads are often served as appetizers, snacks, or sides to complement meals, especially with chutneys or pickles.
