Detail overview
Garlic Naan
A flavorful and aromatic variation of the classic naan, Garlic Naan is a soft, pillowy flatbread baked in a traditional clay oven (tandoor) and generously topped with minced fresh garlic and melted butter or ghee. Made from refined wheat flour (maida), yogurt, and a leavening agent like yeast or baking soda, the dough is kneaded and rested to develop a light and airy texture.
After being slapped onto the hot walls of the tandoor, the naan puffs up beautifully, developing characteristic charred spots and a slight smoky aroma. Once out of the oven, it’s brushed with melted butter and sprinkled generously with fresh minced garlic, which infuses the bread with a rich, pungent flavor that complements its soft texture perfectly. Sometimes, chopped fresh coriander is also added on top for a burst of freshness and color.
Garlic Naan is the perfect accompaniment to rich, creamy dishes like Butter Chicken, Paneer Butter Masala, or Dal Makhani, adding an extra layer of flavor and aroma to every bite. Served hot and fresh, it’s a favorite choice for garlic lovers looking to elevate their meal.
